There are lovely walks in the surrounding areas and also a lake to visit over the mountain called Llyn Eiddwen. There are some breathtaking views, glorious sunsets and lovely walks, making it the perfect place for ramblers and those with dogs.
In Llanrhystud which is 6 miles away there is a shop and post office and also a challenging golf course where permits to play are available. Special weekly tickets for the pool and leisure centre can also be purchased by arrangement. Aberystwyth which is 9 miles north offers a wide selection of restaurants, pubs theatre and cinemas. Aberaeron, 11 miles south, is a very attractive Georgian town with harbour and restaurants.
Accommodation
The Barn sleeps 5 in three bedrooms. Upstairs there is stripped pine galleried landing leading to a cosy fully carpeted and well lit double bedroom with a king size bed. It has far reaching views over open fields. On the ground floor there are two double size bedrooms, one with stripped pine floors and a single bed and the other with twin beds with sheepskin rugs for extra comfort and shaded skylights should our guests like a lie in. There is also a bathroom on the ground floor which has a bath and electric shower, wash basin and toilet.
The interior of the cottage has been refurbished yet still retains its former charm with open beams and quirky features. The lounge has two leather sofas, one three seater and one two seater together with digital TV, DVD and radio.
There is a pull out table for dining in front of the large window overlooking the fields down to the sea. The kitchen has plenty of work surfaces and is well equipped to prepare the local foods that are available in Wales. There is an oven with hob and an electric range of microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee machine. There is a ceiling drying rack available and also outside clothes airer.
