Tanybryn (meaning 'on the brow of the hill') is a secret almost forgotten. Originally a Welsh farm house and empty for 60 years, it has been completely renovated over the last three years to provide authentic accommodation, retaining many original features, including the inglenook fireplace. The nearest beach is only 14 miles away.
The cottage is set in 2 1/2 acres of wild flower meadow, garden and woodland. The wild flowers in the meadow include orchids and yellow rattle, and the woodland in spring has a profusion of bluebells and herb Robert, with many others growing along the banks. This rich habitat provides a perfect environment for wildlife, including toads, frogs, foxes and bats, and for the birdwatcher it is a haven with among others barn owls, tawny owls, woodpeckers, red kites, buzzards and nuthatches. The hillside location of Tanybryn means that wonderful views are a daily occurrence.
The three bedrooms are comfortably furnished and are suitable for five guests. There is one double bedroom, one single bedroom and one twin bedroom (open plan). Also on the first floor is a bathroom with toilet, wash basin and shower tub. Downstairs there is a parlour with inglenook fireplace and a stove and a dining room with table, chairs and stove. The kitchen is well equipped to include a dishwasher, fridge, cooker, microwave, slow cooker and toaster. There is a TV, however it cannot receive a signal and it can only be used to watch videos or DVDs, a selection of which is provided.
Outside there is a table and chairs in the garden. The garden is completely fenced in but all gates must be shut at all times as there are sheep and cows in neighbouring fields. Pets are welcome, but are not permitted upstairs or on the furniture. The charge per pet per week is £15.00. The cottage is non-smoking.
Guests must bring their own bed linen and towels. Electricity is included in the price and a welcome pack will give your holiday the best possible start. One bag of anthracite and one bag of logs is provided each week. Further supplies can be bought from the local garage.
Our aim at Tanybryn is to give you a stress free break and space to unwind and relax.
Booking dates between April and October are for a minimum of one week; Saturday to Saturday, as are Christmas and New Year and 'half term' breaks. November to March may be booked for short breaks.
