Synod Isaf Cottage is a charming cosy cottage for two which adjoins the owners’ farmhouse and is surrounded by farmland. This 100 acre working farm is only 4 miles from the picturesque seaside town of New Quay with its choice of sandy beaches and pretty harbour. Sit on the harbour wall enjoying an ice cream and watching out for the Cardigan Bay dolphins. In New Quay, you can join the stunning Ceredigion coastal path and explore the nearby coves and villages that edge Cardigan Bay. The ancient market town of Cardigan, a short drive away, has a theatre, cinema, and a range of individual shops while nearby New Quay offers excellent cafes, pubs and restaurants.
The farm is tucked away above a wooded valley off a small country lane. The network of local lanes offers a choice of easy strolls and there are other walks from the door along public footpaths through nearby fields and woods. Ours is a working farm with cattle and sheep so there is more activity at certain times of the year when tractors may be heard above the usual peace and quiet! We have free-range chickens and are generally able to offer eggs and fresh produce for sale throughout the summer.
Accommodation
Synod Isaf Cottage sleeps 2 in a beautiful first floor bedroom with a double bed beneath a vaulted beamed ceiling. This large airy room is full of cottage character and has views of the immediate countryside around the farm. The shower room is on the same floor and has a shower cubicle, toilet, washbasin and electric heater.
The cottage is beamed throughout with traditional quarry tiled floors downstairs. The living area is comfortably furnished with a sofa and digital flatscreen TV. The cottage pine dining table is set before the window overlooking the patio. The well equipped fitted kitchen is set in the original inglenook fireplace and has an electric oven, microwave and fridge with freezer box.
