Short breaks

West Wales is perfect for a weekend getaway or a midweek escape. Even a few days here can really recharge your batteries and provide a very welcome break whether you come to relax and laze or to fill the time with activities and adventure.

If the dates you want are not already showing as a short break, it's still worth asking. Many of our cottage owners will be happy to offer you a price reduction for a stay of less than 7 nights outside high season or at the last minute. Be sure to agree the dates and price before booking.

How do you book a short break?

  1. First, search for cottages which are available for the week that includes the dates you want. Look for cottages which suit your requirements and which have the ‘Short breaks available’ indicator on the cottage details page.
  2. If the owner’s contact details are displayed, you can get in touch with them to ask if they can offer the dates you need. Otherwise, contact us and we’ll pass your enquiry on to the owner. We don’t charge you anything for passing on enquiries or making bookings. Just as with full week bookings, you only pay the owner’s charges.

How much will it cost?

The price is up to the individual cottage owner but it’ll probably be at least 60% of the full week rate for a 3 night stay, 70% for 4 nights and 80% for 5 nights. It may be more depending on the time of year and whether the owner could otherwise get a full week booking. There isn’t usually any discount for 6 nights.

The owner’s costs for a short break are nearly as high as for a full week so some set a 3 night minimum price - you can stay for a shorter time of course but at the same price.

Some owners don’t offer short breaks at all, particularly those who can only get the cottage prepared on their regular changeover day.
