Shepherds Cottage near Cardigan on the Ceredigion Heritage Coast is a converted 200 year old stone barn at Treforgan Farm. Full of character with original beams and exposed stonework, it has its own individual style, creating a cosy and welcoming family holiday home in this secluded rural setting.

The sandy beaches and seaside villages of Cardigan Bay are within easy reach. The nearest beach is the broad expanse of Poppit Sands in Pembrokeshire, just over 10 minutes away and one mile away is the small historic town of Cardigan with its shops, pubs, restaurants, swimming pool and an excellent cinema/theatre. There are endless possibilities for days out exploring the beautiful countryside, trying water sports and adventure activities and visiting the numerous family attractions of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.

Treforgan Farm offers plenty of outdoor space to enjoy: 15 acres of fields to walk the dog, a small pool in summer for children to splash in, a large pond to view from the summer house or paddle on in the row boat, and plenty of space for croquet, football, barbecues and more. Guests love helping to feed the ducks and chickens, playing with the dogs and cats and seeing the horses and beautiful Highland cattle. There is even a little ‘tuck shop’ where children can buy sweets and ice cream and, to give you a real break, home made farmhouse meals can be brought to your door! Perfect after a long day spent walking, sightseeing or swimming at the beach.

Accommodation
Shepherds Cottage sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms – one double and one twin - plus 1 child over 10 years old in a balcony room reached by a stair ladder. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin.

Other than the child’s balcony room, the accommodation is on the ground floor, with a few steps down into the sitting room.

The warm and cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove so you can enjoy relaxing in front of a log fire in the evening. There are comfy sofas, TV/DVD and a selection of books. French windows lead out onto the private patio.

The fully fitted kitchen diner has an electric hob and oven, fridge / freezer and microwave. The dining area has a Welsh dresser with a table seating 6. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available to use in the farm’s shared laundry room.

Outside
Outside, the cottage has its own patio reached by French windows from the sitting room. There is an enclosed garden and views over open countryside. There is ample parking to the front. The farm conservation pond and gardens are for you to enjoy, you can walk in the fields and a circular walk leads from the door.
