Rowan Cottage is a cosy stone cottage sleeping 4 to 6 nestling in peaceful countryside on the outskirts of the picturesque fishing village of Little Haven. Lying within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and just minutes walk from the heart of the village, it enjoys stunning views across St Brides Bay. Little Haven is popular for its beach, excellent pubs and restaurants, café, shop, gallery and the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath.
The cottage, one of ten located around a central courtyard at the end of a quiet country lane, was converted from original farm buildings known as Woodlands Farm. It provides a tranquil and safe environment, having no passing traffic. The cottage is therefore popular with families and couples alike as well as walkers, wildlife and watersports enthusiasts. It is also a great retreat for quiet romantic breaks.
Rowan Cottage sleeps 4 to 6 in a large ground floor master bedroom with double bed and twin beds in a loft gallery space accessed by a traditional crog ladder (limited headroom). Further guests can be accommodated on the lounge sofa bed. The lounge has two sofas, digital TV with DVD player; CD radio player and a coal burning stove effect electric fire. A selection of music, DVDs, games, local guides, information and other books are also provided.
The open plan gallery style kitchen has an electric fan oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster and washing machine/tumble dryer. There is a conservatory dining room and bathroom with over-bath shower and wc. Spectacular views can be enjoyed from the conservatory, master bedroom and garden.
Outside is a gently sloping private lawned garden with picnic bench and stone barbeque area. There is a dedicated parking space adjacent to the cottage with additional parking on site. Bed linen, bath mat, tea towel and cleaning cloth and hairdryer are provided. A travel cot is available by arrangement. Guests are asked to provide their own towels. One well behaved pet is welcome at additional charge of £15 p/w, or 2 small dogs by arrangement. Heating is via electric wall panel radiators in the lounge. Electricity via £1 coin slot meter. The cottage is non-smoking.
Little Haven beach is a small sheltered sandy cove with pebbles above high water, flanked on both sides by rocky cliffs. It is popular with beachgoers, divers, boating and watersports enthusiasts. Its slipway provides easy access to the beach. At low tides the sandy beaches extend approximately three quarters of a mile across to Broad Haven beach, which can be easily walked. Water quality is good with nearby Broad Haven, Newgale and Dale beaches having achieved blue flag status.
Nearby activities include watersports (incl equipment hire and tuition), horse riding, boat trips around the coast and nearby Skomer Island nature reserve, fishing from land and boat. Famous attractions such as Oakwood, Folly Farm, Pembroke Town (incl Castle), Tenby and the Cathedral City of St Davids can be easily reached by car and some by bus as can many other local attractions and entertainment.
The other cottages in this group are Fern Cottage, Pine Cottage and Ivy Cottage and Holly Cottage and Bay Cottage and Willow Cottage. Interested in booking more than one cottage? See the Group Availability Table.
