Birch Tree Cottage is a petite detached character cottage for two, right by the Coastal Path and just a few minutes walk from the beach at Aberporth on Cardigan Bay. The interior is open plan with a sleeping/living area at one end, a kitchen at the other and a separate wet room between them. The log burner adds to the cosiness of this pretty little hideaway. The owners live next door and are happy to recommend places to visit and offer local advice if asked. Aberporth is a great base for your holiday: amenities include 2 pubs, a couple of shops and a handful of places to eat.
There are two sandy beaches, dogs are allowed year-round on the nearest one, with a large grassy area above it where you can have a picnic or treat yourself to fish and chips while watching the world go by. You may well spot some of Cardigan Bay’s resident Bottlenose Dolphins, too. Walking the Ceredigion coast path takes you north to Tresaith and then to Penbryn and Llangrannog – and even further if you wish. Heading south will take you to the picturesque cove of Mwnt with its whitewashed church where you can climb the hill for breath-taking views across the sea towards Cardigan Island.
