Enjoy breathtaking views of idyllic countryside at the western edge of the Brecon Beacons in Carmarthenshire. Merlin House is a restored period farmhouse offering a comfortable and relaxing base for walking, cycling, bird watching or fishing within easy reach of the small market town of Llandovery and the many attractions of the surrounding area. Walk or cycle for miles in the nearby Crychan Forest, a haven for many species of birds, mammals and insects.
For anglers, there are over seven miles of fishing on the rivers Towy, Bran and Gydderig. Nearby are the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountain, the National Botanic Gardens, Llyn Brianne with a stunning lake and walks, Aberglasney Gardens with its beautifully
restored gardens, Dinefwr Park and Carreg Cennen Castle. Family days out less than an hour away include the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, the Red Kite Feeding Station at Llangadog and the National Showcaves Centre for Wales.
Accommodation
Merlin House sleeps up to 9 people (8 adults and one child or 7 adults and 2 children) in 5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. One bedroom is on the ground floor and with a double bed and en-suite shower room is suitable for visitors needing easier access.
On the first floor there is a bedroom with a double bed, a larger bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with bath, wash basin and toilet, a bedroom with twin 2’6” beds and another with a single bed. The family bathroom with bath and shower over, wash basin and toilet is also on this floor.
On the ground floor, the very well equipped new kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, slow cooker, steamer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a washing machine. The dining area includes comfortable seating for nine people around the long dining table and has a HiFi with DAB radio and a candlelit semi-circular stone fireplace with bread oven and chimenea.
The sitting room is warm and comfortable with leather sofas and a feature stone fireplace with an attractive array of candles in a cast iron chimenea. There is a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD, a Playstation2 and board games. Internet access available. A door leads to the downstairs shower-room and toilet (the downstairs bedroom also has access so the shower-room but can be securely locked off when necessary).

The entrance to the property has double gates to ample parking at the front and side and a large enclosed garden. There is a patio at the rear with garden furniture and a barbecue.
