Pencwm Farmhouse provides character, comfortable accommodation on a secluded smallholding, off the beaten track, with views over the Preseli mountains, close to the Pembrokeshire National Park. With our own woodland garden, pond and hay meadows, we offer a tranquil haven from which to explore the glorious beaches and countryside of south and west Wales.
Whether you wish to walk the Preseli hills, explore the coastal path, surf the waves off Newgale beach, try coasteering off the Pembrokeshire cliffs, gaze at the dolphins and seal wildlife in Cardigan Bay, visit the host of gorgeous natural gardens or castles close to hand, or simply enjoy the peace, seclusion and wildlife at Pencwm, including red kite, buzzards, owls, heron and bats, we have something to satisfy every member of your group.
Well behaved pets are welcome and you have a large enclosed garden with play area.
Pencwm Farmhouse sleeps up to twelve adults plus cot, although it is cosy enough for smaller groups. There are six bedrooms, one of which is a twin bedded room on the ground floor. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom (which can be converted to bunk beds with third single bed), one bunk bedroom and one single bedroom. A cot and highchair are also available. There is a cloakroom with large basin and wc downstairs, and two further bathrooms upstairs, one with shower, basin and wc, the other with bath with shower over, basin and wc. All the upstairs bedrooms have views onto the surrounding countryside with the Preselis in the distance.
The well equipped kitchen is the heart of the farmhouse with an oil fired AGA and a dining table to seat twelve. There is a walk in larder, wooden fitted units, plus fridge freezer, microwave / multi oven, dishwasher, small TV / DVD, ipod and dartboard! The washing machine / dryer is in the downstairs cloakroom.
The open-beamed living room has comfy sofas, an open fire, a TV and DVD/video player, games, DVDs and videos, and well-lined bookshelves opening up into a south-facing conservatory with an established grapevine.
The property has full oil fired central heating and oil, electricity, and coal and wood for the open fire are included in the price. We also provide all bed-linen and towels, apart from towels for the beach. WiFi internet access is available. Two well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement and without charge. The garden is large and securely fenced, and has swings and a slide, a patio with garden furniture, a barbecue and badminton net, and large paddling pool for adults and children. There are tree rope swings for children and adults in the fields. Ponies, dogs and cats are kept by the owner who lives in the original stone Welsh longhouse on the other side of the farmyard.
There is ample car parking space and we are happy to accommodate a touring caravan or motorhome for larger parties and can supply electrical hook-up for £10 a night. By prior arrangement we can also accommodate or provide a tent in the garden for £15 per person per night. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement but we levy a £50 deposit on arrival which is refunded in full providing that the house is left clean and undamaged.
The village of Crymych, five miles away has every shop you need, including a bakery, butcher, wholefood shop, chemist and newsagent. The local pub has a takeaway menu, and there are excellent Chinese, Indian and fish and chips takeaways within a few miles.
