Nant y Blodau Bach in Newport, Pembrokeshire is a beautifully furnished traditional Welsh stone cottage, full of character and original features. Set on the lower slopes of Carningli in the Preseli Hills, opposite a stream on a quiet lane, it is only a three minute walk from the centre of Newport village with its shops, pubs and restaurants. A short walk up the lane rewards you with stunning views of this magnificent stretch of the Pembrokeshire coastline.
Nant y Blodau Bach offers walks from the door out onto Carningli mountain and the slopes of the Preseli Hills. From Newport you can walk to the Parrog and join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path or explore the Nevern Estuary, home to numerous birds and wildlife.
The golden sands of the broad beach at Newport are backed by the 18 hole links, a beautiful setting for a round of golf. Angling, bird watching and boating are all popular here in Pembrokeshire National Park and after a day in the fresh air, Newport offers a variety of pubs and restaurants to relax in.
Accommodation
Nant y Blodau Bach sleeps 4 in two cosy first floor bedrooms: one double and one twin, both set in the eaves with sloping ceilings and exposed beams. They are reached by a small winding staircase. The rest of the accommodation is on the ground floor.
The kitchen overlooks the pretty cottage garden and is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
The lounge/dining room has a low beamed ceiling and a woodburning stove set in a large inglenook fireplace at one end with a dining table seating six, an easy chair and a Welsh dresser. A sofa and armchairs are set before another wood burner at the other end of the room, with flatscreen TV/DVD and an ipod docking station.
The bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash hand basin and toilet.
Outside
To the rear is a lovely sheltered cottage garden, 100ft long with garden furniture and a barbecue. This secluded and enclosed garden is perfect for relaxing in on a peaceful summers day. There is space for one car to pull in and park on the side of the lane outside the cottage.
