Tycoch Barn is a newly converted self-contained barn which has been renovated to a very high standard. It is situated in the heart of Carmarthenshire, just 4 1/2 miles from the picturesque market town of Llandeilo in the beautiful Towy valley. There are many local attractions including the National Botanical Garden of Wales, Aberglasney, Carreg Cennen Castle, Dinefwr Castle and Newton House and Parkland, the latter being home to the National Sheepdog Trials in September 2008. Llandeilo is also on the Heart of Wales railway line linking the metropolitan city of Swansea with Shrewsbury. The Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Cardigan coastlines are all within one hour's drive. Tycoch Barn is a nature lover's paradise and set within approximately 50 acres of unspoilt and natural farmland where one may spot red kites, herons, buzzards, foxes, rabbits etc. The river Dulais runs through land adjacent to the barn and fishing rights allow visitors to enjoy this facility. The barn is built of traditional Welsh stone and slate with solid oak joinery and offers excellent accommodation. It has oil fired underfloor heating throughout. On the first floor there are four bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms. Bedroom 1 incorporates a double bed, a digital TV and an en-suite; bedroom 2 has two single beds which may be joined or used separately and a digital TV; bedroom 3 is a family sized room incorporating en-suite bathroom, one double bed, one set of bunk beds and a digital TV; bedroom 4 has a single bed with room for a cot if required. Also on this floor is the family bathroom with toilet, wash basin, bath and separate shower. Extra sleeping facilities can be acquired through use of the bed-settee in the lounge. Cot and high chair available on request. Extensive storage space is available via the 3rd floor attic room accessed by a space saving staircase. On the ground floor, the kitchen/diner has a fully fitted oak kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, electric cooker and microwave. The large comfortable lounge has a TV with DVD and French doors onto a patio with extensive views. There is also a separate toilet with wash basin on this floor. Linen and towels are provided and all fuel is included. Tycoch Barn cannot accommodate pets and smoking is not allowed inside the property. There is ample parking. The barn has extensive grounds including the patio area with garden furniture and a barbeque. The views from the barn are truly breathtaking with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, including the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Book online but don't pay now. You will need to pay the deposit to the owner. A 15% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking, the balance should be paid 4 weeks before the start of the holiday.
