Calderbrooke Lodge is an early 20th century Swedish hunting lodge sleeping 6, overlooking a beautiful, tranquil Welsh valley and is within 15 minutes of two of Cardigan Bay’s award winning Blue Flag beaches. The beaches are surrounded by rock pools, ideal for children to explore and Lifeguards patrol during the summer season. Dolphins and seals are often spotted from the beaches and, of course, this part of Wales is well known for Red Kites and many other wild birds. Aberporth, Llangrannog and Penbryn beaches are all within seven miles of the cottage and it is centrally placed as an ideal base for walkers with coastal and inland walks of varying lengths – maps and guides are available from the Lodge. There are numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as butchers, supermarkets, bakers and various other little shops nearby in the small market town of Newcastle Emlyn, 5 miles away. Cardigan is 10 miles away and has a cinema, theatre, leisure centre with a swimming pool and the castle is well worth a visit. At nearby Llangrannog Urdd Centre are facilities for dry-slope skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding as well as horse riding and many other activities for all ages. Back at Calderbrooke Lodge, pleasant strolls lead from the house into quiet woodlands where wildlife abounds and the beautiful cottage garden is perfect for relaxing and watching out for Red Kites gliding over the surrounding fields.

The master bedroom with a double bed is on the ground floor, with views over the valley. A second bedroom with twin beds is also on the ground floor, overlooking the garden. The third bedroom is the only upstairs room and has a large double bed. A cot and high chair are available if required. There are 2 bathrooms, one having a bath, toilet and wash basin, the other with a power shower, toilet and wash basin. There are lovely views from two windows in the sitting room which has a sofa, chairs, digital TV, DVD player and a Wood burner. The dining room has a large dining table and chairs and has French windows leading to a balcony overlooking the valley, the perfect place to sit and enjoy the views in the evening sunshine. There are also a variety of games and books available.

The country style kitchen has a large pine table with chairs, electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Glazed doors lead from the kitchen into the sun-warmed conservatory, which also contains a table and chairs, and leads out into the garden. The washing machine and tumble dryer are available in a separate utility room.

The Lodge has oil fired central heating, if required, parking for 2 vehicles and there is a lock-up for bikes. Towels, tea-towels and linen are provided but guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. Electricity, heating costs and fuel for the wood burner are included. When available, fresh home grown vegetables, honey and eggs can be purchased.

Calderbrooke Lodge is a perfect retreat for those who appreciate the countryside as well as fine sandy beaches. Altogether this property offers comfort and tranquillity, beauty, seclusion and a peace reminiscent of earlier times.
