Gwennol Cottage is near Golden Grove village on the edge of the Towy Valley in Carmarthenshire, west of the Brecon Beacons. It is a beautifully furnished converted barn where you can enjoy splendid panoramic views, abundant wildlife and peace and tranquillity. Yet its only one mile from the village of Golden Grove and within easy reach of the wonderful and quirky market town of Llandeilo with its fabulous speciality shops and the famous Cawdor Hotel. The stunning landscape of the local area features historic castles, native wildlife and the Towy River, renowned for its sea trout or sewin.
Gwennol (Swallow) Cottage is one of three quality cottages at Golden Grove, a former smallholding in the heart of the Carmarthenshire countryside. It is one of two semi-detached cottages converted from a former barn. The cottages are set in approximately one acre of land and are surrounded by lawned areas.
The National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, the stunning Dinefwr Castle and Newton House and most impressive Carreg Cennen Castle are all within ten to fifteen minutes and there are endless walks from the front door. Within twenty minutes is the Red Kite Feeding Centre where you can see these magnificent birds of prey up close. It is the perfect location for nature lovers and cyclists and walkers.
Gwennol Cottage is less than one hour away from the spectacular Gower Peninsula and to the west, the beautiful beaches and coastal towns of Pembrokeshire. Also within half an hours drive is the impressive Black Mountain within the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park.
Accommodation
Gwennol Cottage sleeps 4 in 2 ensuite bedrooms, each with ziplink beds which you can choose to have as a superking or two singles. The standard configuration is twin beds in the upstairs bedroom and the superking on the ground floor. The first floor en-suite has a separate shower cubicle and the downstairs one has a shower over the bath.
The kitchen/diner has a fitted kitchen with ceramic hob, washing machine, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment, and a dining table with four chairs.
The living room has a dual height exposed stone wall, corner sofa, plasma TV with Freeview and DVD player. The staircase leads from the living room up to a galleried landing and the upstairs bedroom.
Outside
There is a patio area with a sturdy picnic table and parasol. There is also an unfenced lawned area outside each cottage. BBQs are available. Storage is available for fishing rods, surfing equipment and bikes. There is parking for 2 cars per cottage.

Book online but don't pay now. You will need to pay the deposit to the owner. A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking; the balance should be paid 1 month before the start of the holiday. Please add £25 per week if you are bringing a dog. A £100 damages deposit should be paid with the balance which will be returned in full subject to the house being left in good condition.
