Tranquil, space, character - all describe this newly refurbished Welsh farmhouse with private lake and free fishing. Hear only the sound of the birds and the fish jumping in the lake! Large conservatory and BBQ - only 10 mins to the beach. Set in 7 acres at the end of a lane no light pollution, no traffic noise - the house has its own private garden and access although there are 2 nearby cottages, also with their own private access and garden, the house and garden cannot be overlooked. Stunning views from each room of the rolling hills. There are nearby bridleways for access to the hills and woodlands home of the red kites. Visitors are welcome to explore the 7 acres, which includes the river Arth.
Very conveniently situated for access to a wide range of mid Wales coves and sandy beaches, and the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron boasting a high number of excellent restaurants (eg the Harbourmaster).
There is a pub at the local village of Cross Inn and local activities include: golf, horse riding, sea and river fishing, dolphin and wildlife trips, scuba diving and activity centre (kayaking, assault course, archery). There are Spa facilities nearby.
Accommodation
Gorsdalfa sleeps 6 to 8 plus a child in 4 first floor bedrooms. There are 3 double bedrooms (2 double and 1 king bed) and childs room with a cot plus mezzanine space above providing a double bunk bed.
In the main bathroom there is a bath, basin and toilet. The bedroom with the king size bed has an en-suite wet room, providing a shower, toilet and basin.
On the ground floor there is a dining room, living room, kitchen, utility and conservatory.
The dining room has a pine parquet flooring with a large table and chairs to sit 8 persons and a highchair. There is also a wood pellet stove, providing heating and hot water. Wood pellets are provided.
The living room has oak flooring with 2 sofas, 2 chairs, lamps, table, digital freeview TV and DVD and a log burner.
The well equipped kitchen with a maple wood block floor, traditional slate work surfaces, multi fuel range cooker (electric oven, gas hob), dishwasher, fridge and larder.
The utility has a third toilet, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
The conservatory has cane armchairs and a coffee table, with doors leading to the private, south facing garden.
Wood pellets are provided for the stove. Electricity is included in the price. Bed linen is also provided.
Outside
At the rear of the house there is a private, south facing garden, with large built in BBQ and picnic table. Garden furniture is also supplied.
A wood fired sauna will be installed in the garden near the conservatory for June 2012.
At the front of the house there are landscaped gardens and lawns joining the fishing lake (50 metres from the house). The fishing lake is stocked with Rudd (some record size). As well as fishing, it is also possible to swim in the lake, a large part of the lake is shallow enough for children.
There is ample parking for cars, trailers, boats.
