Gernos Fawr is your perfect rural hideaway. An old Welsh hill farm on the side of the Preselli hills just above the Gwaun valley, we are an ideal base for outdoor pursuits. Pembrokeshire boasts miles of footpaths and bridleways for walkers and mountain bikers, quiet roads and hills for cyclists, excellent riding stables a few miles away, and 180 miles of stunning coast path.

The popular and picturesque village of Newport is just 4 miles away. There you will find excellent restaurants and pubs, a butcher, antique shop, wholefoods, chemist and Spar. Fishguard, Cardigan and Haverfordwest are all within easy reach. Pembrokeshire beaches are some of the finest in the UK, the nearest at Newport, is run by the national trust and allows parking on the beach. Other places to explore are St Davids, Ramsay Island, Strumble head and Skomer Island, as well as places of interest such as Woollen mills, and a reconstructed iron-age village.

Accommodation
Our cosy holiday cottage is on the Southern end of our long barn. We have renovated it using traditional lime throughout giving it a fresh uncluttered feel. Access is via steps up to the 1st floor where you will find an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge area with freeview satellite TV/DVD and CD player. Stairs lead downstairs to the 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 bunk. On the ground floor is the shower room which has a large shower, wash basin and wc and the utility/storage area with a washer/drier.

Outside
Outside there is an enclosed garden for your privacy or you can explore our 21 acres where we keep a few sheep, pigs, ponies, chickens, geese, ducks, cats and dogs. We have direct access onto the hills where you can spot red kites, buzzards, meadow pipits, skylarks and stonechats to name just a few of our resident birds.
