The sandy BEACH with spectacular SEA VIEWS towards Cardigan Island from Poppit Sands is only a mile and a half walk. This 200 year old cosy cottage overlooks the beautiful River Teifi and its estuary in the ancient village of St Dogmaels.

The cottage itself is steeped in a sense of history which the sensitive among you will certainly feel. It is one of a pair of River Pilots cottages held in the same family's ownership over more than a century. An excellent romantic bolthole ' A deux ' whether the sun is shining or not. Enjoy your breakfast on the patio in the sunshine or stay in the cosy cottage whatever the weather.

The cottage is an ideal base for those wishing to explore the N. Pembrokeshire and S. Ceredigion coastline. Village amenities include riverside pubs - an excellent range - restaurants, village shop (open 'all hours') and gift shop/gallery. Riverside walks and watching the launching and mooring with the beat of the rivers flow or quiet fishing nearby. The ruins of St Dogmaels abbey and the working flour mill with a scenic mill pond and waterfowl are a short walk away. The county town of Cardigan provides even more amenities just over one mile away with a wide range of shops and theatre with cinema, several restaurants and numerous other opportunities for enjoyment, whatever your taste.

Fox Cottage is approached up a flight of steps from the narrow road leading to Poppit Sands. Proceed through the arched gateway to the front door. The open plan ground floor has seating arranged around the inglenook fireplace which houses an electric stove-effect fire. A door leads off to a utility area and a separate ground floor shower room (large walk in) with WC and washing facilities. The country style oak kitchen has ample facilities and a pine dining table. An electric hob, oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave and washing machine plus dryer are all supplied for visitors comfort.

Upstairs you will find a spacious bedroom with a 6 foot bed, comfortably appointed with antique furniture enhancing the atmosphere. Bring your favourite CD's to play in the provided DVD/CD players and TV (2), both upstairs and down. Off the landing area with its own writing bureau there is a further well appointed bathroom with bath, WC, basin and bidet. Central heating and all electricity and hot water are included for your comfort. Bed linen and tea towels are provided but guests are asked to bring their own towels. The adequate parking is some 30 metres away available both on and off road for your vehicle.

Fox Cottage is a comfortable and unique Welsh cottage in a village setting (away from the madding crowd) close to the superb beaches of Cardigan Bay - an ideal location for that special holiday for two.
