Cloverton House, in the beautiful village of Cilgerran, is a large detached Victorian house which has been recently refurbished to a very high standard to provide a luxurious holiday home catering for 12 (and up to 14) people.

The large garden has splendid views of the Teifi gorge leading to Cilgerran Castle, which is only a short stroll away. There are lovely walks along the River Teifi, famous for its coracle fishing (and where coracle events are held during the annual village festival in mid August).

The entrance to the Welsh Wildlife Centre, which has an organic café and where (for the more adventurous) canoes can be hired, is only a short bike ride/brisk walk away. The 14th century Pendre Inn (serving real ale) is within stumbling distance of the house and the village has 2 further pubs, a restaurant and village shops all within walking distance. Cilgerran is close to the charming market town of Cardigan which has a theatre, cinema, shops and supermarkets. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the long sandy beach at Poppit are only a short drive away. Similarly, to the north of Cardigan, the spectacular Ceredigion Heritage Coast has rocky headlands and safe sandy beaches with the chance of seeing seals and bottlenose dolphins as well as providing ornithologists with a vast array of birdlife. By separate arrangement, it is also possible to charter the owners’ fully coded and skippered rib boat to seek out and photograph the wildlife along the coast. Similarly, the boat can be chartered to divers to get out to the many wrecks within the area.

Further details can be found on "Razorbill Rib Charter" in the "Things To Do" pages of this website.

There are many beautiful beaches nearby and wonderful walks inland and along the cliffs. Cloverton House is a also a good base for day trips to Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm and the other attractions of Pembrokeshire.

Cloverton House caters for 12 (up to 14) people in great comfort. On the ground floor, from the entrance hall, there is a reading room with a multi-fuel stove, settee and arm chair and door to side patio. The dining room has a character fireplace (not working) and two large dining tables which may be used in various combinations with 12 chairs. Four steps down lead to the large lounge which has comfortable seating, a large multi-fuel stove, a TV with DVD, video and Freeview and French windows leading out onto the patio and lawn. Off the lounge is a music room with a baby grand piano leading on to the study with French windows opening to the patio. The kitchen has another large dining table seating six and is fully equipped with a six burner cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine, freezer and tumble dryer.

At the top of the stairs there are three bedrooms, one twin and two double. Two of the bedrooms have Victorian fireplaces (which are not in use) and the other double has a washbasin. A corridor leads to a large games room (four steps down) complete with a pool table and TV with a games console. The room also has a double futon should your party exceed 12.

The main landing has four steps down to a further three bedrooms, all with views of the garden and gorge. The master bedroom has a king size bed, with full ensuite/family bathroom comprising corner bath, shower cubicle and wash basin as well as a separate w.c. Adjacent to the master suite is one double and one twin room, both of which have ensuite shower and toilet facilities. This landing also has a further w.c. and shower room to serve bedrooms 1 to 3.

Outside the garden consists of a large patio and lawn (on two levels) which has views of the gorge towards the castle. There are three picnic tables and a slate built barbeque is available. There is off road parking for at least six cars and secure canoe and bike storage. Bed linen is provided but guests are asked to bring their own towels and tea towels. Smoking is not permitted in Cloverton House and pets cannot be accommodated. The house is centrally heated and fuel for this is included.
