Ceridwen is a large house sleeping up to 25, on the site of the old smithy and stables at Pen-y-banc Farm. Sitting on the hillside and overlooking a wooded valley, the house is full of charm and character. Set in 40 acres of green fields, there's plenty of room for the kids to run around and explore whilst the adults can relax on the balcony or in the garden.
The house can sleep up to 25 in one single, five twin rooms, two four-person rooms (one with ensuite) and six futons. The house was designed for groups and is spacious and comfortable, even when full. The two living areas give adults and children the chance to be together in groups or escape and find some individual space.
Natural light pours into the house through the five French doors and countless roof windows. The entrance living area is dominated by a beautiful wood-burning stove surrounded by large comfy sofas. Logs are available for £14 per basket. The sloped ceilings of upstairs make it open but cosy, with futons, cushions, a TV & DVD player, music system, books and games. There are five bathrooms and separate lavatory in total, one of which contains a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The large kitchen includes a fabulous range cooker with two ovens, dishwasher, larder fridge and freezer. There is plenty of preparation space with a middle island feature and separate small table and chairs for the kids. The new dining area on one side of the ground floor living room can sit a full house on long oak tables, where dinner and relaxing can blend seamlessly.
.
There is plenty of garden furniture and a patio area with BBQ. The house is non-smoking and we welcome well-behaved dogs at a small extra charge. Bed linen is provided but guests are asked to bring their own bath towels.
We grow and sell our own organic produce and can provide you with a veg box, fresh eggs and our own honey, during your stay. Come and browse our 'supermarket' and choose your own. We also supply hampers that include a selection of excellent local produce.
The house works as self-catering but we can take the hassle out of cooking and provide freshly made dishes ready for you to just pop in the oven. We cook using only the best vegetarian ingredients, nearly all organic, to give you wholesome, delicious food.
We also run a bike hire service, and guiding if you wish. We’ve a range of bikes for those that are used to using specialised mountain bikes and those who prefer the comfy saddle sort. Start off from Ceridwen with a route map or we can take you a little further a field.
The surrounding area of the beautiful Teifi valley affords a rich and varied landscape, stretching out to coastline in only 20 minutes driving. We're in the very centre of an area steeped in history, once being the Welsh woollen industry capital. The area is littered with crumbling mills and old drovers roads and there are several mapped walking routes from the door of Ceridwen.
Damages deposit of £150 required, increases to £200 when booking within 7 days of your holiday.
New in 2011 - The converted Old Dairy adjacent to Ceridwen has been approved as a venue for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies making this the perfect venue for your special occasion
