Relax at Cennen Cottage, a converted farm building on the outskirts of the village of Trap with spectacular uninterrupted views of Carreg Cennen Castle. Cennen Cottage is located in a secluded and quiet area of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is well placed for walking and sightseeing in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. The Beacons Way Footpath passes close by with the magnificent scenery of the castle perched above on the craggy outcrop. Carreg Cennen Castle with its craft centre, ancient cave vaults and tearoom is less than a mile away and open to the public all year around.
The pretty market town of Llandeilo with excellent shopping, pubs and restaurants is 4 miles away. The Cennen Arms is an excellent pub a short walk away in the village of Trap and provides meals from locally sourced produce. There are views of the Black Mountain and red kites are regularly seen flying overhead. There is a fishing lake close by and Glynhir Golf Club is 3 miles away and welcomes visitors.
There are many local attractions including Aberglasney Gardens, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Dynevor Castle and Newton House, Heart of Wales railway and the Red Kite feeding centre.
Accommodation
Cennen Cottage sleeps sleeps 4 comfortably in a double bedroom and a bedroom with twin beds. The detached cottage is on one level and benefits from large windows making the cottage extremely bright with views from most rooms. You can lie in bed with your cup of tea and look up to the castle! The bathroom has a toilet, wash basin and bath with overhead shower.
The cottage has a lounge/dining room with seating for 4 and a dining table that sits 4. There is a flat screen TV with built in DVD and i-Pod docking. WiFi is available however the cottage is at the end of BT’s internet connection so bandwidth is not suitable for film downloading. There is a Sky+HD box for basic Sky services. The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Outside
There is a patio in front with a table and seating for 4 and a small garden. Access is via a farm lane with parking for 2 cars in front of the cottage.
