For a unique Christmas gift for that extra special person you are sure to find something at one of the Christmas Craft Markets in West Wales. Last weekend we visited Picton Castle Christmas Market where I bought several original Christmas gifts
The castle itself was decorated with Christmas trees reaching the ceiling and we sat by the enormous log fire listening to the musicians playing Christmas music, creating a beautiful atmosphere.
The gardens were open for visitors and it was an opportunity to see them in their dormant stage, the wind blowing the fountains and the ground squidgy underfoot. These gardens are beautiful at any time of year, as is the whole of West Wales. Maria’s cafe for a super lunch and Santa’s Grotto for the children – a great day out was had by all. With lots of different stalls there was something for everyone and I will definitely make a point of returning next year.
There is still time to visit Aberglasney and Llanerchaeron for their Christmas Markets this coming weekend.

After travelling to Wales to visit my family with my Franco-Italian boyfriend, I developed a good understanding of what would make an excellent gift from Wales. Among some of the things my boyfriend loved were Welsh red mustard, chutney, homemade jams, and honey ice cream, though I think the last on the list might be a bit difficult to transport to Italy! I cannot wait to return to Wales this summer. It is a true paradise. Heather
