Ael y Bryn is a cosy detached cottage which provides a welcome retreat in the beautiful and popular village of St Dogmaels. Poppit Sands, the starting point of the 186 miles of Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, is approximately two miles away. A short walk takes you to the centre of the village, on route passing the ruins of a 12th century abbey built in 1115 by Benedictine monks, the Coach House visitor centre/gift and coffee shop (where every Tuesday there is a local producers market), a working flour mill with a scenic mill pond where you can also purchase a variety of milled flours and freshly baked produce.
The village also has an excellent fish & chip shop, garage, post office, convenience store, two gift shops/art galleries, fishmonger and three riverside inns which all serve food and real ales. Nearby Cardigan town offers a wider range of shops and eating places as well as the cinema at Theatr Mwldan.
Accommodation
Ael y Bryn sleeps 4 people in two comfortably furnished bedrooms on the first floor. One bedroom has a double bed, built in wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables and the second bedroom has twin beds, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. There is an additional large wardrobe/storage cupboard on the landing. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower cubicle, toilet, wash hand basin and an ornamental fire place.
On the ground floor, the lounge has a modern gas fire, comfortable sofa and armchairs, Welsh Dresser, table and chairs, digital TV, DVD/CD player and other items of occasional furniture. There is a cosy snug/dining room which has a wood burning stove, a sofa plus dining table and chairs. The newly refurbished kitchen is very well equipped. It has a large American style fridge freezer, electric hob and oven, dishwasher, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave oven and breakfast bar with two bar stools.
Outside
From the kitchen, the back door leads to the spacious patio/garden area which has a table and chairs and a kettle BBQ. To the side of the house there is a secure area suitable for storing up to four bikes and outdoor gear. There is ample parking for two cars in front of the cottage.
