6, Innisfree is a stylish beach side house which has breathtaking views across the bay from the balcony and sitting room, it is set in delightful grounds with a shared heated swimming pool. The pool is heated from May to September.
Llansteffan, celebrated in many of Dylan Thomas's short stories, is a picturesque little village nestling beside the mouth of the River Tywi, and sheltered by the ruins of its Norman castle. Outside of the house is a safe, sandy beach. A short walk around the promontory leads you into the spectacular Scott's Bay, dominated by wooded cliffs and the famous explorer's family home.The village has two play areas, church, chapel, shop, post office, one pub, a restaurant, cafe and tennis courts. It is only 9 miles from the larger stores and supermarkets of Carmarthen, which also boasts a fine local produce market.
Should you wish to travel further Llansteffan is an excellent base for family excursions; Tenby, Oakwood Fun Park, the spectacular cliffs, beaches and wildlife of Pembrokeshire are all within 40 to 60 minutes drive. If your interests are literary, historical or horticultural then travel westwards to Laugharne, Carew Castle and Colby Woodland Gardens or east to Dinefwr Castle, Aberglasney and the National Botanic Gardens. The City of Swansea with its new Maritime Museum,Swimming Pool and Dylan Thomas Centre is only 40 minutes away if you want a variety of indoor entertainment. Llansteffan offers you the choice of a relaxing beach holiday and the opportunity to experience the joys of the Welsh landscape and culture.
6, Innisfree is a light airy upside-down, pink house with a balcony, sleeping 4, plus a cot. A high chair is also available. The front door is through the gardens; table and chairs beside the front door make an ideal spot to enjoy the garden and pool. WiFi is available for £10 for a week and £15 for 2 weeks. There is plenty of off road parking. On the ground floor is a twin bedded room with radio, digital television and DVD player. There is a double bedroom. The bathroom has a bath and electric shower. Upstairs is an open plan lounge, kitchen /diner. From the lounge windows are stunning views across to the Gower Peninsula. The patio windows open onto the balcony with table and chairs. The lounge area has a Sony Bravia television, PVR and DVD player. The kitchen/dining area also has views over the garden and pool. The kitchen is equipped with a washer/drier, dish washer, electric oven and hob, refrigerator and microwave, iron etc. plus a Sony CD/Radio System.
Heating throughout is with storage heaters. Electricity, linen and towels are included in the cost. A box of beach toys and games is provided by the front door. Indoor games, guide books and maps will be found upstairs. Regretfully pets are not allowed on the complex and smoking is not allowed in the house, only outside the house or on the balcony.
